What food brand do you feed your dog?

  • This is sort of a poll, to see which brand is most popular, but I'd also like to hear why you buy it and what difference you see in your dog compared to other brand you've tried.

    Thanks! :]

  • Maxximum. i know i know people don't like that brand but it's free of animal by-products and artificial colors and preservatives. That food has made my dogs coat so much better and they have lost weight.

  • I feed "Reddog Deli" raw organic meat & veggies.
I buy it from Bosleys Pet supplies.

If not raw, I have fed Wellness,Evo,Innova and Go Natural.

  • I just switched my aussie from diamond to california natural. It was the best decision I ever made. Her gas is gone, and she poos a ton less. And she no longer has pudding poo, it is as solid as can be. (TMI? You asked :) )

The other dogs are finishing up the old bag of diamond, then I will switch them over to cal nat because I like it so much.

  • I have been feeding Canidae for a long time. There are some good dog foods on the market, but most of them are garbage.

  • IAMS!!

  • Innova Adult

  • EVO!!!! No grains, no problems! Its the closest thing to raw!

  • I feed my Chi/Poodle mixes Wellness - Small Breed and my newly adopted GSD mix puppy Wellness - Large Breed Puppy. I recently switched my Chi/Poodle mixes from Nature's Receipe - Toy Breed because of the bad reviews and ingredients. I read that Wellness is one of the top brands of dog food and all my dogs love it.

  • Canidae All Life Stages! Soon switching to Canidae Grain Free!

  • Hills Prescription Diet....I buy it from my Veterinarian. He told me that it contained the easiest form of protein for kidneys to process for geriatric dogs. My dog is much more active & seems to feel better than with any other food I've tried.

  • I feed California Naturals with great success.

  • I just switched from Taste of the Wild to Canine Caviar, the pet store donated a pallet to our rescue. New intakes get yogurt mixed in to help with the stomach flora. I sometimes mix in Merrick before Grain canned protein supplement for my sickest guys who need the extra nutrition to get better.

I still feed my personal guy ToW due to grain skin allergies but he still occasionally steals the fosters food on occasion and doesn't show allergies to the canine caviar. Merrick Before Grain caused bad skin allergies to my personal guy for some reason.

  • My dog and puppy love Wellness, I mix the wet and dry.

And now even my cat loves it! I'm having a hard time getting my cat to eat his dry cat food, which he used to adore, now that we leave the food down for the puppy!

  • Taste of the Wild Kibble & Natures balance logs for treats

  • Wellness,my dogs have also done well on canidae and halshans

  • My dogs are on a rotation.
For commercial dog food, I like to switch between Merrick, Back to Basics, Evo, and Taste of The Wild. I choose between these brands because of the high quality ingredients, high fat content, and cost. These foods are also manufactured privately by the same companies that own them, making them less likely to be subject to the contamination we saw recently with most commercial foods.
I do also give them supplemental raw foods. With the cost of meat lately, it's too costly to feed a completely raw diet, which would be my ideal.

  • I prefer Natural Balance Sweet Potato and Fish, but pay days are tight right now, so I've dropped down to the best possible grocery brand I can find (Maxximum), until things get better.

I also give raw diet 1-2 times a week for some variety. I intend to switch to 100% raw once I feel comfortable doing so.

I noticed less stinky poops, smoother coat, and more energy when feeding Natural Balance (as well as the raw) compared to grocery brands.

  • My English Bulldogs are on Wellness, my Pekingese and Chihuahua are on Prairie dry rotation, along with Instinct and raw and some can food..

  • Orijen.

  • I feed a rotation of Taste of the Wild, California Natural, Innova, and Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul.

I buy it because it makes my dogs skin no longer flaky and itchy, their eyes are brighter, hair is shiner, no more doggy breath, and they have a lot more energy.
