I'm a huge fan of the band myself ,but was deeply dissapointed with their performance at my Coke fest ( rock festival held in South Africa ). :(

I LOVE EVANSCENE, the make really great music, i dont often listen to this kind of music, but i love the girl her voice and the sound just ROCKSSSSSS :wave:

Like anyone in that band can compare to the shredding skill of Iommi.

Next you'll say one of them whippersnappers that play guitar in that band Linkin Park can go the distance with Dave Mustaine, or something.

Not the best, not the worst.
I would say they are 'played Out" here in the States.

Want a better band, check out Lacuna Coil, much better, and def more talent going on.

I concur on Amy Lee sounding like crap live.

I only heard the single "Bring me to life", which is quite nice. Actually it sounds like a Linkin' Park copy, but with a female vocalist. I did read that this isn't the case with the rest of the album though, which is probably a good thing.

I've actually met them once, when they were promoting their album in Holland. A friend of mine did a short interview with them for his radioshow.

I like them... I've even met the drummer :p

Evanescence is ok. I like how Amy Lee sings but i've never gone to a live before.

They're alright. When I listen to their songs too many times, I get tired of them.

I love Evanescence. I have The Open Door, and it's better than I thought it would be. I was afraid they might try to sound different, but they didn't. I think all the songs Amy Lee sings are powerful and unique in different ways.

i love Nightwish and Lacuna Coil...evanescence is alright

Amy Lee's voice is awesome. The problem with lots of rock bands that have female singers is that their voice just doesn't match the music, even if the music is plain awesome (Nightwish is a prime example). Evanescence and The Donnas are the only modern bands that have pulled it off. Unless you count Kittie...but I mean...I didn't even know the singer was female the first time I heard them... :p

Now that you mention it...eerr...nevermind. But you're right. That wasn't exactly how I meant it. I meant that they have the dark sound, but lack the talent needed to be great. Although, Haunted did have a very Ozzy-esque solo in it. I like them, but I know they aren't exactly the best band out there.

Now, I wouldn't go that far. Although, they have surpassed Metallica as of late...St. Anger left a really bad taste in my...uumm...ears?

I adore Evanescence. There isn't a single song on their Fallen album that I don't love. (Within Temptation are great too).

I like evanescenes..I have their cd...their music is pretty good..but I have to say that cd is pretty depressing...it might be just me though..my favorite song so far is Torniquet...

Oh! I started to really like them after I saw this music video someone made of Final Fantasy X-2 with Evanescence's Whisper. Thats a great song! I like this other one but I don't know the title. I'll try to look for it (title of the song).

she is kind of attractive but not that good looking I like evanescense but I like Linkin Park more they're my top favorite band in rock and no it's not Emo it's strictly rock... :bluush:

I am not directly fond of them, though I must say I did enjoy there CD when it was released a couple of years ago.
I think female vocals sounds good in some rock, but I would definatly prefer Tarja from Nightwish over Amy lee... just too bad Nightwish broke up last year.

Hey, it could happen! I was meant to find Final Fantasy VIII back in '98 sitting at the bottom of the used shelf at Babbages. Marked half off because I kid brought it back the next day, opened, saying he didn't like it. Ended up being my favorite game and helped me meet the girl of my dreams. Then again, we aren't together now...so maybe that's a sign, too... ::sighs::

They are called 12 stones and they are pretty good :yeahh:

Meh, I think they're mediocre. I do really enjoy "Going Under," but I find the rest of their stuff average. They are probably my favorite electronic rock band, They were pretty good live, more metal than on the album. For those of you who do like them, I highly recommend Lacuna Coil, a brilliant goth-influenced doom metal band. Some people compare them, though I don't think they're that simmilar, if you like Eva you may like Coil. Try their albums Comalies and Unleashed Memories for starters. If you get Unleashed, be sure to get one that includes the Halflife EP as a bonus. Enjoy ;)

I like a handful of their songs. I only listen to them when I'm upset or rather pissed off. However, I'm not just a die-hard fan. That won't ever happen.

They're pretty good. Whisper and Lies are 2 of my favourites.

I started liking Evanescence when Bring Me To Life came out (same as most other people who like them). Once I got the CD, however, it ended up being my least favorite song. I think Amy Lee has a very unique voice, and you can disagree all you want, but they had the potential to be the next Black Sabbath/Ozzy.

Unfortunatly, I do believe they will be dissolved very soon. I like them nonetheless, though. The choir in a lot of the songs is amazing, especially in Whisper and Everybody's Fool. the string arrangements are awesome, too.

Haunted and Tourniquet are definitely my favorites, and My Last Breath's lyrics remind me of Deo.

I never really like them because it's not the kind of music I listen too but I saw them at the Rock am Ring and sorry, but I don't think it's permissible to play Zero of the Smashing Pumpkins right in front of billy Corgan (who was with Zwan right before) and just kill the song. I don't think they are bad or good this a pure subjective decision that doesn't belong to me but still their performance was not well received and the singer doesn't have what it takes to sing Zero and that's a fact. Hate me for this but they were insulted by thousands (including me) of people when they made an unwanted comeback which made the wait for Audioslave longer, that was painful...

Ehm, yeah, but that's also the case with Linkin Park and every other nu-metal band for that matter. That's nu-metal, so what are we talking about here?

I looked at them as the girl verson of Linkin Park (well, just the person who does the vocals). But they're pretty good, not bad.-.

I bought Nightwish's album Once at Wal-Mart because the cover looked cool. I'd never heard of them before then. They are actually pretty cool, though sometimes the girl's singing gets a little too whispy for my tastes.

I'm still an Evanescence fan, and will probably remain one. Of course, they can't hold a candle to lots of bands out there, but I still like them.

I am not too fond of their songs, the reason being that their songs are played all the time - everywhere on radio and tv. I liked one of their songs in the beginning, but now I am tired of listening to their songs.

Some of their songs are terrific, and some are downright dreadful. Mostly, though, the good outways the bad, so I don't mind them.:cool:

I liked their first track that their released but have not heard anymore from then on.

I'm not usually into that kind of music. I like stuff that's much heavier and not at all poppy. But that woman's voice just speaks to me. She just sounds so tortured and beautiful. And the crunchy guitar backdrop helps for me since I like heavier music. I like it. :cool:

I have their CD, too. They're really talented and i love all of their songs.

i like them too my fav songs are tourniquet and bring me to life and i really like the new metal scene:cool:

Nightwish is cool.
If you want watered down pop stuff stick with Evenescence.
if you want the more eclectic talent stuff with more of an edge, check out some of the bands I have suggested.
You wont be disappointed.

check out a band called Extol...very cool stuff.

EVANESCENCE FANATIC RIGHT HERE!!! Yeah, I loooooooooooove them! And I am in love with Amy Lee. She's so beautiful and her voice floors me every time. I wish Ben hadn't left that band though :worried: but they seem to be doing fine without him so...yeah. But still I love Evanescence and I LOVE Amy Lee!

And their cover of Korn's "Thoughtless" I want to YELL the chorus of that to my oldest brother. "Why are you trying to make fun of me?
