How long is too long to leave your computer on?

  • like how many hours before you should shut it off for it to rest?


  • I currently have a computer that's been left on for around 7 months, and before that it had been on nearly a year and a half continuously. It's all down to necessity and conditions. So long as the computer is well vented for cooling there is nothing to stop you leaving it on as long as you want.


  • Doesn't matter i left my computer on all the time never got a problem i put it in standby now


  • My work computer stays on 24/7 no problem


  • till 2012!


  • What do you mean "It doesnt matter"You are wasting the countries resources and contibuting to Global warming by this unthinking attitude to using electricty unnessacellery


  • It really doesn't matter how long you leave a computer on. I've left mine on for days at a time with no problems whatsoever.
