Bud vases are perhaps one of the easiest vases to figure out. After all, they are limited in what they can do … or so you think. In actuality, there are a number of ways in which you can use our bud vases. It’s just a matter of exercising your creativity and thinking outside the box, er vase.

Before we get into those different ways to utilize these vases, let’s talk about what their primary use is. Bud vases are designed to hold one perfect bloom. Usually slender in shape, these vases have a small opening at the top in which to add water and flowers. Because the opening is so small, there is just enough room for the one flower, although often times some greenery is added to enhance it. That makes it pretty simple to figure out. These types of vases are popular for those flowers with certain significance like a beautifully formed long-stemmed red rose. For something a little more fun, a single sunflower or gerber daisy is also an option.

Bud vases seem limited in scope, but their impact in design schemes and uses throughout the home can be significant. Here are few ideas you could incorporate in your home:

1. Break up the monotony on a wall. If you have a blank wall in your home and you are unsure what to do with it, install a shelf with decorative brackets. Then, line three or four bud vases in a row along the shelf. Choose your favorite flower to highlight in the vases. Watch that boring wall come to life with these bud vases in bloom.

2. Want to add some ornamental, but useful touches to your kitchen? Consider converting a few of our bud vases into decorative oil and vinegar dispensers. You can purchase cork stoppers or a spout that can covert a bottle into one of these dispensers. Putting a sprig of rosemary or even adding some dried little chili peppers will not only add a little kick to the flavor of the vinegar and oil but also add some color as well.

3. Kitchen ideas – part two. Another idea for the vases is filling them with various dried beans, popcorn kernels or even colored sand for an easy decorating idea. Why spend a ton of money at the store for a similar product when you can make your own using our bud vases and customize them to your design theme?

3. Turn to your bathroom for inspiration. Another alternate use for our bud vases is turning them into bath gift sets. Purchase bath salts, essential oils and bath gels and fill the vases. Top them with cork stoppers to prevent leakage. You can easily dress these up with decorative ribbon or raffia and add beads and shells. Not only would they be useful in your daily bath routine, but they would also make a lovely addition to your decorating scheme.

4. Help plants get their start. Take a cutting of your favorite plant, like the prolific ivy and cut it right below a growth bud. Fill one of our vases with water and insert the cutting. Watch your ivy start growing roots! After several weeks, your cutting will have enough of a root system to transplant into a regular container with potting soil.

Of course, bud vases will always be utilized for its most popular purpose – as gifts. A rose is a great choice for a sweetheart. A lily, iris or colorful daisy would be perfect for a favorite teacher or friend. Our bud vases are versatile and make for an attractive option whether as a gift or part of your décor.
