Dining options in Orlando?

  • A group of us will be be staying in the Lake Buena Vista area for a conference, and we would love to know about some good local restaurants.

We would prefer a mom and pop Orlando original, not a national chain. Moderately priced to upscale fare is okay. Traditional steak and seafood cuisine would be optimal, but we are certainly open to other suggestions. We will have a rental car and are willing to travel a bit if the spot is worth the drive. The group will consist of about 6 folks just in case dining party size is an issue.

Thanks in advance for your help and guidance. Happy eating!

  • I travel to Orlando frequently on business and have found a few out-of-the-way gems. If you're group likes Asian, there is an outstanding upscale Asian place that is reasonably priced on Lake St (at Ruby Lake Road) called Quan Xu House of Yum Yum. I've never been disappointed. Have fun!

  • If you want the best steak and grilled foods you've ever had, take I-4 going north (really, I-4 East) to the exit for SR414. Go west to the second light. Sam Snead's Tavern and Grill will be on your right-hand side (It's next to the large RDV sports complex). You'll drool as soon as you step into the place! It's pricey, but well worth every penny!!!!!
