Help putting my speaker wire to the motherboard?

  • My cases Speaker connector has 3 pins, but the 4 pin connector only utilizes the 1st and 4th pin--while the motherboard uses 3 out of 4 of them.
How do I figure out which goes to where--one side is red and the other is black.
    sorry if this is confusing...

  • Polarity doesn't matter on a speaker. The pins are on the motherboard, but only 2 of them are used for the speaker. A speaker doesn't use a Vcc, you aren't connecting it to the right place. The pins you are describing sounds like a cooling fan

  • Put the red wire pin to the + terminal on the motherboard and it'll work.
