  • i am doing a research paper and i need some info on where i can find some answers to questions my professor wants to be answered...
    what is the current problem of illegal immigration in the U.S. (both sides: against and for it)
    and what organizations/groups generally support a solution and what is it?
    what government benefits are illegals eligible for?
    and what is a Guest Worker? and which group/organization supports it?

    I am also doing research on it...but maybe a little help from you guys would be very helpful! i would greatly appreciate it!
    and nothing from wikipedia please!
    i just need websites that answers one of those questions

    GAO undocumented immigrants. The General Accounting Office is un biase, non partisian, and very correct. The Presidents Economic Commission is bogus.. there are other that are as bad. The GAO has a number of reports worth reading.. none of them support illegal aliens, and all of them excellent resources.

    Rather than fix this country up, this country is paying massive welfare to the illegal aliens, AND immigrants. It has gotten worse since 2005 and the debt to the infastructer has now risen to something well over two trillion dollars.

    What groups support a solution and what is it? Actually, and at this point, only the leadership of the Democratic Party, the supporters of La Raza and the Mexican Government. Do independent polls... NOT the Pew Hispanic Polls.. and the American People do not support the plans the Democratic Party had for the illegal aliens at all. Do a search engine and ask for illegal aliens polls, and you will get a bunch of them but only back to about 2004. There are more further back, but I haven't been able to access them for a while.

    What government benefits are illegals eligible for?
    Several without forged or stolen I.D.s. If they do use forged or stolen I.D.s, the amount of welfare is far more massive. Keep this in mind: the Mexican Mafia was offerring three complete U.S. Identifications in many of the major urban parks in Mexico for $1,500. When those guys are caught, they were not proscuted and simply returned. So there is no handle on the issue of how the fake I.D.s are used, and what for.

    One last report that is far better than most reports in that it does not pull punches: the City of Los Angles issued a report on the support of the illegal aliens. It is well worth incuding in any documentation.

  • For illegal immigration:
    Shrinking workforce- With the baby boomers reaching retirement age there is nobody to fill those positions, especially the blue collar positions. (This argumentis loosing its validity with the current rate of unemployment)
    Lack of unskilled labor- Not too many Americans want to work in the fields and slaughter houses anymore.

    Against illegal immigration:
    Over population-We have a dwindling amount of natural resources, and can't sustain the large growth in ppopulation Also the entire infrastructure of highways, electrical network and water pipes weren't designed to handle the large increase in population.
    Lack of assimilation-Many of the illegal immigrants are not melting into the melting pot. (ie not learning English and obeying laws) There's also sociological problems involved such as general cultural differences.

    Groups for illegal immigration:
    LULAC
    MALDEF
    MECHA
    National Council of La Raza
    (Those are all race based groups focussing solely on Latinos)

    Groups against illegal immigration:
    Numbers USA
    Save Our State
    Minutemen
    American Renessaince
    Council of Conservative Citizens

    Government benefits:
    Most costly is public education.
    Welfare and WIC for children. Illegal immigrants themselves can't collect, but when they have children, they are considered USA citizens, so they can collect for them.
    Health care- There's a law that says noone can be turned down for treatment in emergency rooms, so many illegals get treated in emergency rooms, including pregnancies, which has many people upset. An illegal immigrant can go into an emergency room and have a baby at taxpayer expense, ($20,000each)

    Guest workers are people who are allowed to work in the US but who are not capable of becoming citizens.
