How can you deal with all of the criticism that you get as a superstar? One criticism would probably upset me?

  • How can you deal with it, any techniques?

  • Develop a thick skin.
    Never stop believing in yourself.
Also... maybe this industry isn't right for you if you can't take criticism?
It's a very hard industry to get into & you'll need to take a lot of criticism.
Sorry, but that's the way it goes.

  • "Criticism" in the theatre means something very different from what it means in the real world. When someone criticises you, they aren't telling you what you're doing wrong, but what could be better, and how to get it there. Remember that when you're recieving it - don't get defensive and tell yourself why they're wrong, listen to what they're saying, and consider how to apply it to get better. The fact that you're getting criticism is a great sign - if you were just awful, they wouldn't bother trying to help you fix little things, they'd just tell you to move onto something else.
(And there will always be times when it hurts. But you take that emotion, examine why you're feeling it, fix what you can, and push it into the character.)

  • Just develop your own personal way of getting past the criticsism and believeing in yourself!

  • The same way as you get over a fear of making a fool of yourself when acting.

I would recommend a books like 'overcoming shame' by Windy Dryden
