  • The Vivaro has a choice of two 1.9-litre and a 2.5-litre common rail turbodiesel and 2-litre petrol engines. The diesels produce 82 bhp,100 bhp and 133 bhp and develop peak torque of 140 lb/ft, 177 lb/ft and 228 lb/ft at 2,000rpm respectively. The petrol unit is good for 120 bhp.

    These new diesels are smooth in their power delivery and relatively vibration-free. The lower powered option is mated to a dash-mounted five-speed 'box while the 100 bhp version gets a six-speeder, which provides a slicker gearchange action.

    So, in other words, if it's a 1.9 with a five speed box, it's 82bhp. If it has a six speed box, it's 100bhp.

  • It will be the base power spec unless it's badged as a 100 or 120dCi - it should also be listed in the handbook on the vehicle details page, on the V5 & as a double check, you can run a text check that will tell you the engine spec.
