  • This is what happend I had the interview on a Wednesday, I called on Thursday because I couldn't sleep and I really wanted this job, I told the interviewer that I was sleepless over this job and even if I didn't get it could they call me and let me know. She said okay. I get a call the next week later on Monday and she says would you like to be here as a Temp while I don't have anyone here you can atleast answer the phones, she said why don't you think about it and give me a call back, I'll give you $12 since thats what you were making at your previous job. I said I don't have to think about it I'll take it. On my 2nd day I told my boss I want this permanent not Temp. She said I am thinking of considering you for the position. SO the rest of that week they continued conducting interviews. Well, they stopped looking and I'm still here I'm already going on to 4 months. There's only one thing shouldn't I be making $14 by now? Should I ask for the actual pay for the position? I mean that's what really caught my attention. My probation period has passed. Can anyone help me out?

  • Wait a few months.

  • well if its been four months and they stopped doing interviews 3 months ago, then i'd talk to her about a raise. well maybe actually i personally would probably ask for the raise at the 6 month point. but its not unreasonable for you to ask now.

  • Most likely they decided that they could get you cheaper and since you were so excited about the job they just kept you. Talk to your boss about a review and possible raise. It is perfectly normal for people to get reviews and raises after 90 days. Just let her know that although you didn't have a problem starting at $12 you were originally looking for a job paying $14. Maybe you could all compromise and settle for $13 with another review at your 6 month anniversary. You'll never know if you don't ask. If they are happy with your work then it would be to their advantage to give you the raise than to have to possibly replace you. Good luck!
