  • i've got a bit of trouble with the imdb lookup during the last month.
i've tried a number of builds, but i still can't get it to work.
i've used it before, but when i deleted the xbmc folder a couple of weeks ago (as i always do when installing a new build) it stopped working and i can't get it to function propery.

the cddb and the weather works so i guess it's not the internet connection.

imdb lookup is enabled in xbmc.

    any suggestions?

  • :fixed:

after a decent amount of time and tries, i finally got it to work. i used the guide for configuring a home network, and spec wich nic to use for internet connection.
i then applied the settings for nic1 and the xbox and rebooted my xbox. then it worked. :kickass:
i thought i've already tried this config... :hmm:

    nic 1:
    connected to xbox
    ip: 192.168.0.3
    net: 255.255.255.0
    gateway: none
    dns: none

    nic 2:
    connected to internet
    automatic ip

    xbox:
    ip: 192.168.0.2
    net: 255.255.255.0
    gateway: 192.168.0.3
    dns:192.168.0.3

  • my memory is good, but short. i know i learned all this before, but i just can't seem to remember it. *

in my pc i have 2 network cards. the first one is connected to my xbox.
    pc
    ip: 192.168.0.3
    net: 255.255.255.0
    gatew: none
    dns: none
    xbox
    ip: 192.168.0.2
    net: 255.255.255.0
    gatew: none
    dns: none

the second connection is to the internet, where i aquire an ip-nr automatic.
when i set the same dns in in my xbox network settings as i have for my (automatic) internet connection, i get a little further in my attempt to reach imdb. xbmc seem to search for it, but it still can't find anything.

i used to have gateway 192.168.0.1 for my pc-xbox connection, but when i now apply this, i can't connect to the internet at all... neither through my pc, nor through my xbox.

sorry for beeing such a *, but i just can't get it to work, how hard i try, and i do need a helping hand.

  • check your dns entry in network settings.
