International Affairs/Research
I'm trying to find an article printed in the hard copy edition of THE
WEEK magazine within the past year was based on research done by a
peace research group. The finding was that the rate of wars in the
world are actually going down, thanks to the work of the UN, as well
as other social trends. The only indicator of war in the world that
was increasing was terrorism. I would love to get the website for the
organization
that did this research, as well as the date of the article. Obtaining
the article in its entirety would be outstanding (it was only a few
paragraphs-- generally pretty short.)
Thanks!Dear bohemianne-ga,
From your description, I believe that you are referring to this
article in The Week Magazine.

The organisation is the Human Security Centre and their report is the
Human Security Report which can be accessed on the link further below.

?The first Human Security Report documents a dramatic, but largely
unknown, decline in the number of wars, genocides and human rights
abuse over the past decade. Published by Oxford University Press, the
Report argues that the single most compelling explanation for these
changes is found in the unprecedented upsurge of international
activism, spearheaded by the UN, which took place in the wake of the
Cold War.?

I hope this answers your question. If it does not, or the answer is
unclear, then please ask for clarification of this research before
rating the answer. I shall respond to the clarification request as
soon as I receive it.
Thank you
