Isn't it obvious why athiest have trouble providing a basis for their morality at all?
The more seculist society becomes the harder it is to see what is crime and what isnt.
Agree?Disagree. I'm a Christian, and feel that religion and morals are two separate matters. One can be moral without being religious. Whether or not society becomes secularized does not erase the fact that the vast majority of human beings (with the exception of the psychologically impaired) not only understand what crime is, but can also distinguish right from wrong without the aid of religion.I disagree.. I think the reason believers have such a hard time providing a basis for their morality lies in the fact that it is rigid and uncompromising. Stealing is wrong no matter if you are starving or not.. it's a close minded view. Morality should not be based on rigidity, it should be based on flexibility.. It does not become harder to see what is a crime and what isn't it merely becomes more complicated.. Circumstances warrant individual and flexible application of morality. What may be a crime in one case, may not be a crime in another case. For example.. a rich man steals something and it is a crime that should be punished. A poor man steals something to feed his starving family.. it is a crime but one that should not be punished, rather help should be provided so that the man has no need to resort to crime to survive.
Believers would have us throw them both in gaol, and have them both condemned to hell.. rigid uncompromising morality is cruel and unecessary. There is a huge grey area between black and white, right and wrong..No, I think everyone regardless of religion can see that things like stealing, murder, rape and paedophilia are wrong. Our society is secular, yes. I doubt that any atheists will admit that they don't know something though. Most people have overinflated egos.Disagree.
You're beginning to get a little annoying. In the eyes of some, the ownership of property is a crime.
Crime, like time, and love, is a relative subject, dependant on the opinion of the observer.OK, you're a troll, but there is a real issue here.
Your first question is nonsensical, since it assumes a falsehood.
Morality and the criminal code are two different things.
The clarity of the criminal code has nothing to do with religiosity---in fact, applying a religious bias to the interpretation of the law is a source of confusion.oh hai you mean like how it's okay to send your kid to be nailed up to a stick but abortion is wrong? No.
How old are you? I think there's an age requirement for R&S.Because it is based on thought and personal soul searching?#If you have any other info about this subject , Please add it free.# |
